Mohamad Chalak

I am a contemporary artist based in Lebanon, working primarily with acrylic on canvas. My practice explores emotions, dreams, memory, loneliness and the unknown through landscapes, symbolic and surreal imagery, and abstraction.

I am interested in the emotional and psychological atmosphere that an image can create. Landscapes can become imagined spaces rather than simple representations of places, while figures, objects, and recurring symbols can suggest feelings or ideas that are difficult to express directly. In other works, I move toward abstraction, allowing color, form, texture, and composition to carry the emotion without relying on a recognizable subject.

My work often draws from personal experiences, emotions, dreams, and observations of the world around me. I use simplified forms, contrasting colors, expressive marks, and textured surfaces to create works that can feel familiar while remaining open to interpretation.

Rather than giving each painting a fixed meaning, I want the viewer to bring their own experiences and emotions to the work.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

My artistic practice has been developed through independent study, experimentation, and continuous exploration of acrylic painting and contemporary art.
