Mojca Lovrec Prezelj

I'm primarily a figurative painter. I am in love with human faces, expressions, strokes, beauty. I find beauty in every individual. We are all perfect, in our own selves.
Although I am a business woman who has had her own business for years, I have always drawn and created. I was born with a pencil in my hand. I got serious about art ten years ago when I finally mustered the courage to pick up the brush I had been kind of afraid of all my life. I admit, we became best friends.
Like most, I started with colors, but classic painting bored me in a way and I soon landed on some other media. I love pyrography, burning images in wood. I am happy to dip brush into coffee or wine and create my own artwork.

Saying that about me and my art I feel the need to explain coffee and red wine as an art media. Many people ask me if these paintings are lasting. And the answer is YES. These are natural pigments, strong pigments. They don't fade. Wine do however age, so freshly painted paintings are red and they get more brownish with time. But as any other art they have to be treated with care and DO NOT wash them, you will ruin them.

I have exhibited in many places in Slovenia and Austria. In 2019 I received special award of the expert jury at the Ex tempore Ptuj.
