Molly Kim creates oil paintings set in quiet, unfamiliar forest scenes.
Her works often feature girls, boys, animals, and simple objects placed together in a single space.
The forest in her paintings is not a real place, but a space shaped by emotions and memories.
The figures are often shown walking, pausing, or facing something, as if they are in the middle of a quiet moment.
Color is a key part of her process.
She carefully selects and combines colors before painting, then builds the surface in layers to create depth.
Because of this, the paintings feel both calm and slightly unfamiliar at the same time.
Rather than telling a fixed story, her work leaves space for viewers to bring their own memories and feelings into the scene.
Molly Kim graduated from Ewha Womans University with a major in Clothing and Textiles.
After working in the fashion industry for over 15 years, she has been a full-time artist since 2014.
She has held 12 solo exhibitions and participated in various group exhibitions, including ASYAAF, where she was selected as a Hidden Artist in 2019 and 2024.
