Masayoshi Oki
Originally from Nagano, Japan, Masayoshi Oki lives and works in Tokyo.
He is an architectural director and creative producer whose work explores the intersection of architecture, culture, and art.

With more than four decades of experience in architecture, urban development, and real estate projects, Oki has been involved in the planning and direction of numerous buildings, including offices, hotels, and urban redevelopment projects.
Throughout his career, he has explored how space shapes human experience and cultural memory.

Through MOMO-CREATE, the creative studio he founded, Oki extends this spatial philosophy beyond architecture into the realm of art.
His artworks reinterpret classical aesthetics through contemporary media, exploring how tradition can evolve within modern cultural landscapes.

One of his ongoing series, “The Great Wave Reimagined – Hokusai Through Timeless Eyes,” revisits Hokusai’s iconic wave through imagined dialogues with artists such as Van Gogh, Dalí, Chagall, and others.The series reflects his belief that artistic ideas travel across time, culture, and disciplines.

For Oki, art is another form of architecture — a way of shaping invisible spaces of emotion and memory.
