“If we’re all human, why is it so hard for most of us to express our emotions? Why do we hide behind pleasantries? My work attempts to be a bridge for empathy so people can have substantial conversations rather than superficial ones.

Living with Crohn’s disease, I struggle to ask for help or tell anyone about anything because it’s just not polite conversation. That’s why I create. To express emotions you can’t otherwise talk about, in a visual way. To help others find beauty in pain. And bring light into spaces that are pitch black with suffering and sorrow.”
