Monica N Albarran

Monica reflects a life marked by contrasts of light and shadow, as well as moments of profound joy and terror. Her work is based on the exploration of the duality between life and death, concepts that have been recurrent in cultural manifestations of the past. These references to everyday routine are intertwined with the uncertainty of the present, where life manifests itself vigorously, overflowing through striking colorful techniques.
The artist employs expressionist textures that are powerful and thick, yet sublime, creating a visual dialogue that impacts the viewer. Her training and educational experience focus on storytelling, painting, and printmaking, influenced by the great masters of art history. Mónica has developed a unique and passionate style that combines the application of bright colors in abstract figurative pieces with expressive artworks that contrast with her dark prints. Contrasting real-life events are a constant source of inspiration for Monica, leading her to work with extreme combinations that underscore her desire to express a return to life. Through the narrative of her brushwork, she has decided to live life to the fullest, conveying her experience and personal vision through her art.
