Monika Jones

My name is Monika Jones and I'm an artist based in Dorset United Kingdom
Originally from Poland as a little girl I grew up living in Neo-Renaissance villa designed and build by Józef Boretti in 1862. Since early years I was surrounded by beautiful architecture, antique furniture, interiors and art. This is when my love for art and architecture was born. Later on in life, I decided to pursue this passion further and become an architect. Trained in Architectural college in Warsaw I then studied architecture in Warsaw University of Technology.
I had developed a deep well of technical skills, yet I spent my days painting the visions of others – not my own.
A while ago a friend of mine asked me what I wanted to do with my life. I said I wanted to paint, to be an artist. But then I detailed all the reasons that seemed to make my dream impossible. She listened to all my excuses and said: You don’t chose the life of an artist – it chooses you so If you want to paint – do it!
Several years ago I relocated to South West Englad and love my life here by the sea. this is when my artistic journey really began
