Helen Higgins (b. 1984) is a London-based visual artist, primarily working as printmaker/photographer, as well as employing a variety of media including installation, video and object-based works.
Helen has undertaken many interdisciplinary collaborative projects and interventions with museum collections and art galleries across Europe, exploring the boundaries of art and archaeology and the context of museological display using archaeologically unearthed materials and remnants of societies detritus in an endeavour to investigate and understand the human past.
Each intervention without permission is site-specific to the institution targeted, focusing on the subversion of the art institution by means of site-specific performance-based interventions within galleries, in order to shift the emphasis towards audience participation.
