I was born in Santiago Chile in 1955 and ended up studying Cartography at the University of Chile in 1973. I began my professional career as a Cartographer in Houston, TX in 1978. In 1985, my profession evolved to a more intelligent digital Cartography, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS). It has been with this technology where I learned computerized mapping on a large scale. I've stayed with this career path through the present day, and presently live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area
For many years, my creativity escape was to focus on the artistic part of mapping - but this was always a little too constrictive for my temperament. Now I'm transitioning to a more exciting chapter in my life where I'm pursuing a career in art and focusing mainly on large abstract paintings. This type of art is very liberating for me and feels like I'm "coming up for air" because it goes to the other end of the spectrum with its endless possibilities. It's both a wonderful and intimidating experience at the same time.
