Marianna Chikalo

Hello,

My name is Marianna and I was born in Kyiv, Ukraine in 1991. Love for aesthetics and art I inherited from my father, who is a self-taught artist, while has the education in music and was working as a kapellmeister and chorus director. From the time I first took a paintbrush in early childhood I never stop painting. First visiting school of arts then graduated from Kyiv’s National University of Culture and Art.

While working as a fashion designer, for many years I was constantly improving my painting skills taking lessons from experienced artists. I constantly collect moments, emotions, colors, vivid stories and filling them into my art.

I prefer painting in bright, modern, vivid and colorful style of portraits, abstractions, and city landscapes. Oil painting attracts me by its deep and very expressive tones which makes every artwork unique and different. Under various lightning oil paintings play with different moods, emotions and looks for the observer.

I use wet brush, dry brush, texture painting, impasto, palette knife and sometimes hands painting technique (which is underestimated, but many great artists, like Picasso used it all the time).
