Nancy Okang (b. 1996) is a Ghanaian painter based in Prampram, Greater Accra Region, working in post-impressionist and fauvist registers. Her practice draws directly from the coastal communities of Ghana's Greater Accra corridor — schoolyards, salt fields, fishing villages, and the textures of everyday life that are too often painted over rather than documented.
She works in acrylic and mixed media, building richly textured surfaces that carry the weight of her subjects.
Her work enters private collections in the United Kingdom and Ghana, including the personal collection of Professor Ablade Glover, and has been featured by Delia LaJeunesse Art Consulting in their Artists I'm Paying Attention To series.
Her community work as a volunteer Bible educator in coastal Ghana places her in close contact with the young women and families who populate her canvases — giving her paintings an intimacy that comes not from observation, but from relationship.
3 years of study of Visual Arts in Okang's foundation in the visual arts was established through secondary-level studies in Graphic Design, Cane Weaving, and General Knowledge in Arts, extended through continued mentorship under painters Emmanuel Adiamah and Robert Aryeetey.
Artists Alliance Gallery, Ghana.
