Nata Gallo (Natalja Galkina) is an Estonian visual artist who grew up in the Russian diaspora of Estonia, in the border town of Narva. She captures her life and surroundings through paintings and collages, using a vibrant palette, mixed media, symbolic elements, and digital technologies. Her work reflects her inner self-perception and connection to Estonian soil as a contrast to her ethnic reality, as well as her exploration of the world and the meaning of life through a classical artistic journey in an ever-evolving world.
She presents her work to both Estonian and international audiences through solo exhibitions and group shows with the artist collective “Vestervalli.” She collaborates with Estonian magazines such as Narvamus and Samovar. In 2021, she was awarded the title “Cultural Figure of the City of Narva” in the category of Visual and Applied Arts. Since August 2022, she has been developing an art residency and public events addressing taboo topics in art and everyday life, under the NGO “Intimest,” registered in Estonia.
