I was born in London in 1935. My working career was spent as a university professor of Psychology and of Human Factors in the UK, North America and Europe. I am now retired and living in the Alpes-Maritimes in France.I have been painting for about 12 years. I paint mainly in acrylics on canvas, and I have been very strongly influenced by the work of Patrick Caulfield and Tom Wesselmann. Although I paint people and objects, my art is fundamentally about colour, as befits someone who lives in :Matisse country".
You can see my complete work in my private gallery at
My education was originally not in the arts but in science, and I obtained a BA and a DPhil at Oxford in the 1950s. I studied painting with Tony Smith in London in the late '90s. I exhibited with his students at the Mall Gallereies in 2005.,
