Sara Niknejad

Welcome to Niksa Design. I’m Sara Niknejad, founder and designer based in Richmond Hill, Ontario. My work brings together architecture and natural materials to create sculptural lighting pieces.

I’m especially interested in how materials like wood and paper can change over time—sometimes gradually, sometimes under pressure—and how those changes can become part of the final design. My background in architecture helps me focus on structure, but I also embrace the irregularities that make each piece unique.

Each lamp is handcrafted using reclaimed wood, handmade paper, and eco-friendly finishes. If you’d like to learn more or commission a custom piece, feel free to reach out.
