Nina Onaur is the pseudonym of Andrea Ruano (Porto - Portugal, 1978).
This new name composed by a tribute and an anagram was thought to give a new meaning in this new professional path.
Having lived in Paris forever, I chose the city of Porto as my “pied à terre” to complete a training in another form of expression – Visual Communication.
I started building my own project in Graphic Design until I embarked on areas linked to Marketing, without ever leaving aside my passion for abstract expressionism.
As a painter, I work intuitively, harnessing the power of gestures to create instinctive compositions that combine bold colours, dynamic marks, textures and organic forms.
My works tend to be a little unconventional because they’re made on reusable materials, such as cardboards and kraft paper, which I believe gives a pretty unique visual effect.
I’ve been developing my work more consistently since 2019 partnering with galleries, and having several pieces in private collections throughout Europe, the United States and Dubai.
