Artist Statement: My topics are identity, time, and space.
I call my works „Places of the Contemporary“. These range from public spaces of current affairs to private microcosms. Finally, I am interested in the question of human beings` position in the universe.
I use my own developed techniques for combining photography and digital paintings to express sensorial, and
imaginary aspects.
My works are in private and public collections in Europe, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France, Hong Kong, and the USA.

Judith Nothnagel`s paintings, digital photography, and video/media artworks have been presented at numerous international museums, galleries, and art festivals, including the Museum Kunst Palast Düsseldorf, Germany; Luigi Pecci Museum Florence-Prato, Italy, or the Chungdam Art Festival in Seoul, Korea.
Furthermore, Judith Nothnagel founded the media art platform Globalscreen, which is engaged in research on contemporary means of artistic expression and collective forms of perception and dialogue. (2003-2016)
