Vic Oh was born in 1989 from a French mother and a Peruvian father.
She studied Art History at Claustro de Sor Juana in Mexico City, at SFSU in San Francisco, USA, and the Sorbonne in Paris, France, where she majored in contemporary and political art. Self taught, she mostly works with illustration, drawing and painting.
Raised in Mexico, she’s inspired by Latin Ancient Civilizations and cosmical visions from Incas, Mayas, Aztecs, among others.
She plays with symbols of empowerment, as magic charms of protection to offer strength to the viewers.
In the spirit of looking for a common ground of language, she reinterprets archetypes and gives them a more contemporary twist by inserting them in deep warm colors and meticulously delicate shapes.
