I am a self-taught, left-handed artist of Russian origin, now living and working in Scotland. Half-blind since 2021, I have developed a unique way of seeing and interpreting the world—one that embraces both limitation and possibility. My work is a testament to resilience and adaptation, using my distinct perspective to capture the landscapes and ancient ruins of Scotland in vibrant, textured detail.
In 2023, I began my ongoing series “Scotland in Pointillistic Style,” rendered in a pointillist style that reflects both my fascination with colour and my tactile approach to painting. Each piece is built dot by dot, layer by layer, inviting viewers to experience the interplay of light, history, and nature that defines the Scottish landscape. Through this technique, I seek to evoke a sense of nostalgia and harmony, celebrating the enduring spirit of both the land and its stories.
I am drawn to places where time seems suspended—where the boundaries between past and present blur, and where the beauty of decay is as compelling as the promise of renewal. My compositions often frame architectural elements within lush landscapes, using light and shadow to guide the viewer’s eye and evoke a sense of nostalgia.
My art is not only a reflection ...
