I paint because I cannot not paint. I love mixing colours and watching a form, a beauty, emerge from a blank page, from emptiness. When I paint, I have a feeling that the Creator is guiding my hand.
For me, a painting does not end the moment I put down my brush. It seems to wait for its person — someone who will want to welcome it into their life. I want my creation to continue living, filling someone’s home with light, joy and inspiration. Then the circle of creativity is complete.
I have never been a professional artist and have never had formal art education. About ten years ago, I completely changed my life: I left a job I did not love and went to India to spend the winter. There, I began teaching dance, singing, playing the guitar and painting.
I am inspired by the grandeur and perfection of nature — mountains, seas, rivers, oceans, trees, light, sunrises and sunsets. I do not try to depict specific places; instead, I create landscapes from my impressions. At the moment, the majestic Himalayas are a special source of inspiration for my work.
For me, painting, dance and music are different expressions of the same creative impulse — an impulse that brings more beauty into the world.
