Olena Stankevych

O. Stankevych is a Ukrainian-born artist based in Cologne, Germany. Before moving to Germany, she worked as a fashion designer and created fashion illustrations, an experience that shaped her sensitivity to line, color, and composition.
Her independent artistic practice developed during a period of personal and geographical transition and gradually evolved into an exploration of material and texture. Working primarily with acrylics and mixed media, Stankevych builds her paintings through layers, combining tactile surfaces with translucent passages of color.
Her work moves between abstraction and figuration, often drawing on landscapes, natural forms, human figures and animals. In some works, she incorporates thread and stitched elements, using them as an additional line and texture within the painting.
