Olga Prudka

HELLO.

I’m Olga Prudka, a Ukrainian fine art photographer living in New York City. Through my craft, I study the way that people— women especially— relate to the urban and natural worlds. I seek to portray the truth of my subjects: the complex inner workings of their minds, the organic beauty of their bodies, and the way they interact with their contexts.

I also explore context itself. The structures and spaces of modernist architecture, found objects, and nature all appear in my photos as living figures that give insight into the human experience. And the human experience appears as it really is: Playful, grave, even sublime.

Olga Prudka is a Ukrainian photographer who currently lives in New York City. Her style infuses modern explorations of space, movement, emotion and psychology with a candid, timeless romance that captivates viewers and engages them in a conversation about being.

The human takes precedence in her work-- even when photographing objects and architecture, it’s clear that the creator, handler, visitor or inhabitant is the subject of artistic investigation. For Olga, objects are thoughts made concrete and structures emerge from human communion with nature.

And humanity emerges from the confluence of internal and external worlds. Through photography, Olga documents and communicates the complex, dynamic nature of human psychology with uninhibited pathos and courageous honesty.

Her photos navigate to the epicenter and aftershock of trauma, the transcendence of family bonds, and the struggle or joy that accompany the vicissitudes of health. Olga is particularly drawn to these experiences as they manifest in women, whose innate strength she seeks to uplift in her work.
