EDUCATION
My name is Onasanya Opeyemi, I am a Nigerian self-taught visual artist born in 2003. I discovered my passion for drawing during my primary school years, where i began sketching as a way of expressing my imagination and emotions.
I was raised and educated in public primary and secondary schools, i developed my artistic skills through years of personal practice, observation, and experimentation. Without formal art training, i honed my craft independently, driven by a deep commitment to storytelling through visual expression.
My work focuses on symbolic portraiture, exploring themes of identity, time, silence, emotional scars, and transformation. Through the use of metaphorical elements such as clocks, mirrors, flowers, cracks, and layered imagery, i creates concept-driven artworks that reveal the unseen experiences that shape human life.
My artistic vision is rooted in the belief that art should go beyond likeness to communicate meaning. Each piece invites viewers to look beneath the surface and reflect on the stories, struggles, and resilience that define us.
