Ordódi Tamás

I am a Hungarian sculptor based in Budapest. I graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 2005 with a degree in sculpture. Alongside my independent artistic practice, I have worked for nearly two decades on large-scale sculptural, architectural and restoration projects, including productions and commissions requiring complex technical solutions, specialist craftsmanship and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

My work explores movement, connection and the invisible systems that shape our physical and emotional lives. Pipes, roots, blood vessels, nerves, cables and musical instruments repeatedly appear in my sculptures as metaphors for the circulation of energy, information and memory.

I am particularly interested in the tension between organic and industrial forms. Familiar objects are transformed, stretched, intertwined or fragmented until they become strange, vulnerable and sometimes humorous organisms. Music—especially jazz and improvisation—is an important source of inspiration. Rhythm, repetition, pauses and unexpected changes often influence both the construction and the emotional atmosphere of my sculptures.
