The sea has always been my natural element, the place where I have experienced freedom, movement, and presence. Over time, however, I felt the need to observe it from a different perspective, one that is more distant and contemplative.
Through an elevated viewpoint, the seascape gradually loses its traditional reference points and transforms into rhythm, matter, and mark-making. Waves become lines of tension, currents generate spontaneous geometries, while the boundary between figuration and abstraction becomes increasingly subtle.
My practice originates from the physical experience of surfing, but develops as an inquiry into the contemporary perception of landscape. We live in an era in which we increasingly observe the world through aerial images, satellite views, and perspectives detached from the body. In my painting, I seek to restore an emotional and immersive dimension within this contemporary gaze.
I am not interested in representing the sea in a descriptive way. I am interested in transforming the experience of water into a visual surface capable of evoking memory, energy, and the relationship between human beings and nature. Instagram account: ozzy_artworks

Flow from Above, April - May 2026 - Venezia.
An exhibition that invites contemplation and discovery.
Here, the sea and the coastline reveal their beauty from an unexpected perspective - unveiling shapes, rhythms and trajectories that evoke the intimate essence of the surfing experience: a journey of balance, freedom and deep connection with nature.
Seen from above, the landscape transforms. Waves become lines, currents turn into patterns, and the shifting light of the water reveals hidden geometries that are often invisible from the shore. This aerial vision allows the viewer to perceive the sea not only as a place, but as a living movement - a continuous flow of energy and form.
The works on display are emotional maps: abstract narratives that, despite their precision, speak of landscapes both lived and dreamed. Each painting invites the viewer to look beyond the surface and explore the subtle details that only distance and perspective can unveil. Through colour, gesture and layered texture, the sea becomes both memory and movement.
A space where experience and imagination meet.
