Pablo Gutierrez

My work focuses on portraiture and contemporary figurative painting as means of exploring identity and emotion.

Inspired by the classical figurative painting of the great masters, I seek to reinterpret their legacy from a contemporary perspective, focusing more on emotional content than narrative.

Through the use of oil paint, I explore the harmony of color, the fragility of the human figure, and the relationship between the visible and the invisible. Each portrait becomes a silent mirror of the soul, an attempt to capture the ephemeral and turn it into presence.

My work aspires to establish an intimate dialogue with the viewer, inviting them to pause, feel, and reflect on the beauty and vulnerability that inhabit us.

Self-taught by nature, my training has developed through experimentation and observation.
1999-2003 Degree in Audiovisual Communication from the European University of Madrid - UEM.
My artistic practice focuses on the constant search for authenticity and balance between technique and emotion. I mainly use oil paint, although I also experiment with charcoal, acrylic, and digital media.
