Pam Everard

Abstract or conceptual, acrylic on canvas: using a brush as little as possible and preferring scrapers, plastic sheet, my own cut tiles, or anything else that comes to hand I work by reducing an idea to the bare essentials to try to capture exactly what it was that tempted me to it in the first place - this might be the light, the colour or a shape.

Art has always been Pam's method of coping with living in new places but it was 3 years in Dubai, where she spent most of her time at the International Art Centre, which helped her learn to trust her own instincts and move on to a new and much more contemporary style. She works with acrylic on canvas, but sometimes charcoal or soft pastel and occasionally does 3D pieces.
