Paola Grizi

I am a sculptor in bronze and clay.
Among the prizes, I won the 3rd Biannual International Ceramic Contest of Ascoli Piceno and the Special Public Award at the 35th CICA International Competition de L’Alcora in Spain. I was invited twice by the China Government to represent Italy in the third and fourth China Changchun International Ceramics Symposiums and I was chosen by the Pontifical Gregorian University in collaboration with the Kunst-Station of Köln in Germany, for a Contemporary art project.
I first became interested in art while I was still a child, mentored by my grandfather, who was a famous Italian painter and sculptor. I studied Classics in high school and earned my degree in Italian Literature with first-class honors. After that, I embarked on a career in journalism, at the same time spending time on art.
My art work celebrates the artistic creation. Eyes, faces, hands appear through the pages of the book-sculptures, questioning the public about their stories. Inspiration fills the pages with illegible characters keeping the mystery and allowing the dream to go on.
