About Imre van Buuren

In response to the ongoing digitalisation, paper artist Imre van Buuren (Almelo, 1969) is making books with accompanying cassettes by hand in her studio in The Hague, the Netherlands. The books can be filled as you like, with your stories, thoughts and images. You can write in them and paste photographs so it really becomes Your Book.

Imre is looking for a quiet and subdued atmosphere in her work. Combining assembled paper with silk and threads to obtain a intime artwork that consists of a handmade book stored in a cassette that has a cover which consists of a collage of small items.
