Patricia Armbruster

Patricia Armbruster is a contemporary German visual artist. At the heart of her work lies the interplay of line, color, and surface. She explores the movement and transformation of color on the painting surface—how colors flow into one another, overlap, create tension, and give rise to new pictorial spaces. Her painting evolves through a dialogue between control and openness, density and dissolution, stillness and dynamism.

Her artistic identity is closely connected to her engagement with the world of textiles. During her studies in fashion graphics, she developed a keen sensitivity to color, pattern, rhythm, and composition. Her work as a costume designer and textile designer, including projects for fashion houses such as Kenzo, as well as work within the context of Première Vision and for various textile manufacturers, shaped her understanding of the interplay between colors, lines, and structures. Her experience with textile surfaces and graphic designs continues to serve as an important foundation for her artistic practice today.
