Patricia Findlay

I am a self-taught artist. I started painting just over a year ago in acrylics with brushes and palette knives on stretched box canvasses although I do occasionally use watercolours for line and wash subjects. I enjoy painting my interpretation of flowers and water subjects as well as landscapes and cityscapes.
Due to the stresses of an ongoing illness I find a certain freedom in painting which is very relaxing, so by recreating nature on canvas I can express myself freely through my art. I am not just inspired by all forms of nature but also by other artists and the obvious dedication they show in their work.

I am currently showing some works at the community Art Exhibition in Dunkeld, which attracts many visitors worldwide and runs from the last week in June until the first week in August (about 6 weeks) annually. I have volunteered to act as one of the stewards so I can get a real behind-the-scenes hands-on experience, which will be fascinating.
