Paul has discovered a philosophy he finds applicable to his photography practice. Well suited to photography practice and his favorite subjects: nature, flowers, people, and everyday observances, this philosophy is called 'Biophilia.'
It comes from the Greek word philia, meaning 'a love of life or living things.' Through photography, Paul explores the symbolic and physical connections between human identity and the natural world that emanates from and centered around his cumulative personal experience; in other words, life or just plain living. Represented by abstract portrayals, he uses nature primarily as subject matter but not limited to it or solely the abstraction of it. Within these aspects, he explores points of intersection by drawing significance from them by establishing a link to his identity and the natural world, often portrayed through straightforward or abstract depictions.
Paul aims to inspire joy, wonder, imagination, and a sense of peace and tranquility in his audience. His unique approach to viewing and appreciating the beauty of flowers is truly captivating and refreshing.
