About Paul Jackson

Although born and raised in and around London, I’ve always been drawn to the sea.

Having spent many years working in London designing bars & clubs, and making sculptures, I moved to North Devon. Finally living by the sea, I transferred my eye for bold design to painting. I use acrylic paint and palette knives to create a modern take on coastal landscapes, gardens & Modernist architecture.

I find endless inspiration from the coast & am a keen surfer. Major influences artistically are the St Ives school of artists & David Hockney. I now divide my time between North Devon and Bath, where I have my studio & Gallery.

BA Hons in Geology - Kings College, University of London

Although a largely self taught artist, since University my career to date has been full of creative endeavours; each one influencing my painting.

Starting off as an independent mosaic artist I created one off bespoke commissions for private individuals & large companies. 3D works of art followed, mainly one off sculptures for the interiors market. Then a career in club design & ownership, and interior design for individual clients.

I have been painting now for 10 years, showing for 6, and feel this is where I belong.
