Paul Roberts is a self-taught, Chicago-based, abstract artist specializing in acrylics and oils on canvas. Paul’s background is that of a corporate lawyer, where he managed large global law firms. Even while practicing, Paul painted whenever time permitted. While able to do both, Paul felt stifled dealing with corporate politics and bureaucracy.
Paul tried to fill this void by drinking his way through the American Dream, but this obviously did not work. So, Paul changed everything. This series is the culmination of his complete transformation from darkness to light.

His work is abstract in form and often reflective of nature and geographical elements. Paul’s techniques are often compared to that of a sculptor given his use of texture and manipulation processes.
