Paul Saucier
Paul Saucier was born on March 10, 1958 in Canada’s national capital, Ottawa. From a very early age Paul needed to explore, create, draw and paint.
Throughout his primary and secondary education, Paul was involved in numerous activities that touched upon the creative process: from organizing art exhibits to creating sets for plays and dance recitals. As well, he participated in several art competitions, which garnered him a number of prizes.
During his studies at the University of Ottawa’s Department of Fine Arts, he counted among his professors, artists Jacques Hurtubise, Kenneth Lochhead and Charles Gagnon, who influenced him greatly. Always in search of new techniques in painting and art, Paul dreamt of being able to create, to generate and to earn a living from his work. He decided to hold his first solo exhibit at the Rodrigue Lemay Gallery in Ottawa. This first exhibit led to several more, on a variety themes, in numerous art galleries in the region, as well as in other cities.
