Pedro Patricio

I’m a Lisbon-based photographer, mainly focused on Street Photography, but I also explore Portrait, Documentary, and Architectural work, in both color and black and white.

My work is deeply urban. I’m passionate about capturing people in their daily lives, particularly around public transportation and terminals, where the rhythms of commuting—rushing to work, returning home—become a living form of art. I’m fascinated by the transformation of everyday moments into something visually timeless, in a way reminiscent of Andy Warhol’s exploration of the ordinary.

Cinematic influence is central to my creative process, particularly by the poetic realism and visual experimentation of the French Nouvelle Vague, the dreamlike depth of Tarkovsky and Lynch, and the emotional intensity of directors like Almodóvar and Iñárritu. The stylized aesthetics of Wes Anderson, the atmospheric storytelling of Wong Kar-Wai, and the meticulous framing of Fincher and Welles also resonate deeply with my visual approach.

A lifelong lover of the visual arts, I studied Cinema, Video, and Photography at Lusófona University in Lisbon. For many years, I worked primarily as a film producer in advertising (TV commercials, TV series, and music videos), as well as in the performing arts (theatre and contemporary dance).

In 2022, I decided to fully embrace my passion for photography, completing the Professional Course at the Portuguese Institute of Photography (IPF) with distinction in July 2023.

In 2024, I participated in three international group exhibitions—two in Milan, Italy, and one in Athens, Greece. Later that year, I published my first book, Lisbon Stories, which has reached readers across three continents (Europe, Asia, and America) and received highly positive feedback.

In 2025, I've participated in A Global View of Street Photography, exhibition organised by Visions of Art 25, that took place in Lisbon, with the work of 30 photographers from 14 different nationalities, celebrating the rich diversity and unique perspectives that street photography has to offer.

In the beginning of 2026 (February/March), I've participated in City of Shadows, a collective exhibition of contemporary urban photography, that took place in Lisbon, organised by Visions of Art 25, which brought together the work of 19 photographers that offered a sensitive gaze into the less visible layers of Lisbon and Oporto.

Next November, my work will be part of the prestigious exhibition Imagination Paris 2026, that will take place at Galerie Joseph Turenne (84 Rue deTurenne).

In 2027, I will participate in a International Rain Shots Photo Exhibition in Tokyo "When Rain Blurs Boundaries".
