Anneke Peereboom

Anneke Peereboom lives and works in Edam. Living by the water; to recognize the skies, the light, the waves, the flowing water, the playing with the wind, the reeds, the quantity, the movement, as inspiration in the paintings. “There is lightness in the paintings. That is quite remarkable, because the uninhibited undertone is not linked to a fast, smooth key. The paintings that Peereboom exhibits in leading galleries are the result of a long process. The skin of the canvases reveals a painting style that cannot be seen separately from frequent consideration. Painting, overpainting, adding, removing and nuancing again ultimately lead to layered compositions in which the struggle with underlying layers remains visible.”
