Patricia Sundman

Patricia Sundman (b. 1996) is a New England-based visual artist creating watercolor works on paper. Her work is heavily informed by symbolism and color theory, and often features recurring motifs of form and hue. Because of the often flat and geometric forms in her paintings, she uses watercolor paint to contrast that rigidity with something more fluid and unpredictable.
Sundman graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Connecticut in 2018. After working and volunteering in the cultural heritage field for two years, Sundman pivoted to a full-time creative career in early 2020. She maintains a studio art practice alongside a handmade craft business (LittleFinerThings). In her free time, Sundman loves studying languages, reading books, practicing yoga, meditating, and running.
