I’m interested in portraits with a difference.
I intentionally distort features as I draw, then when it comes to painting, I try to bring them back to reality. Sometimes I bring them too far too reality and the painting loses its interest, and sometimes I don’t manage to bring them back far enough and the painting remains too ‘cartoony’. However when a painting has the juxtaposition of both and a foot in each realm, this is when I judge if a portrait has been a success.

I studied for a BA Hons in Painting & Drawing at the University of Huddersfield and got a Masters of Fine Art from the University of Sydney
