Michel Pezeril

Born in Remagen (Germany) in 1948, full-time painter since 1973. Influenced by surrealism, my painting -oil on canvas, in fairly small formats, is based on traditional techniques, and I use glazes to play with the light. I find my inspiration in my surroundings, with a twist of surrealism. I like to take reality on the wrong foot and to offer images that are only there to divert the viewer's eyes. I am strongly inspired by the sea , as well as by the landscapes of Brittany and of the South of France. My work often explores the mystery and beauty of women, it also reflects the conflicts, tensions and promises of the contemporary world.
