Peter Hobden Paintings

I transitioned from IT development to art photography, discovering painting through a drawing course meant to enrich my visual experience. Painting immediately struck me as a powerful means of personal expression, and I transferred all my energy into this medium.

I educated myself through practice and extensive reading, starting with acrylics before moving to oils. After a couple of years I developed confidence and sensitivity, viewing each painting as part of a never-ending progression.

Influenced by impressionist painters, I paint street scenes, landscapes, and portraits. From 2007-2014 I completed around 120 paintings, selling many and gifting others to friends and family.

After a ten-year hiatus for reasons difficult to understand, I am now tentatively beginning to paint again, hoping to revive the passion.
