Piyanuch Insom

I'm a Thai artist based in Bangkok, originally from the countryside. I discovered myself through art, even though I never formally studied it. I started from simple crafts and casual drawing, without thinking art would become something serious in my life.

At one point in my journey, I began working alone, living alone, and spending more time with myself. In that quiet space, I started to hear my own voice more clearly. I had time to reflect on who I was and what I was capable of. One day, I picked up a pencil and tried drawing again.

That moment felt like meeting myself for the first time. It wasn’t as if I was controlling the drawing it felt like something inside me was guiding my hand. The lines didn’t come from thinking, but from feeling. While drawing, emotions surfaced that I couldn’t put into words.

Later, I explored many kinds of craft and creative work. I failed many times but I came to realize that I was collecting experiences. Every interest, every attempt, became something that I now assemble into my work.

The artworks I create are made from those accumulated moments, emotions, and versions of myself. Each piece is a quiet conversation between who I was, who I am, and who I am becoming.
