Pj Lee

Art has always been a part of my soul. Since I was a little girl, all I wanted to do was to draw and paint but art was often thought of as a waste of time in my Asian upbringing. So I ended up at Business School and became an accountant.

In 2011, my artistic soul was awakened when I joined Heartspace - an art therapy painting group at St Mary's of the Angels Church in Singapore. It was at Heartspace that I felt a strong calling to paint. So in 2013, I took a leap of faith and came to Adelaide to study painting at the University of South Australia.

When I first sold a painting to a collector as part of the Cathedral Art Prize at St Peter's Cathedral Adelaide, my heart was overwhelmed with gratitude that someone would purchase an art piece from an unknown art student.

It has been a few years since I finished art school. My art journey has been phenomenal. I have grown so much as a person and met so many amazing people through art. Painting is my life's vocation and its such a blessing to be able to do what I love most in life.
