Pleun Moons

In my paintings I try to follow a path that makes me wander, that gets me lost. The emptiness in a painting embodies light and hope, and that is where the dream materializes. Dreams of lost times or times that might come, but mostly of worlds that hold belief, desire, sublimity; of a world with promise, like a rose garden.

I let myself be tempted by hope and nostalgia to create a world of still time, one out of thousand other realities beneath the sun and moon. By painting I try to get close to nature as well as my own nature. To paint is to put my hands in the earth, to caress and nurture the things I love and to navigate my wandering pilgrimage.

I was born in 1993 in Eindhoven (NL) and currently I am living and working in Maastricht (NL). Since my graduation in 2019 I've been working closely with Marc Mulders in a master-apprentice relation which has inspired me deeply to set my own course.
