Art has brought many positive changes to my life. I started art as a therapeutic activity following a personal loss about 13 years ago. The process of drawing and painting took me to a happy place and helped me to heal from the pain.
I work in a wide variety of media, including drawing, painting, sculpture and textiles. Being a horticulture scientist, I use my technical scientific knowledge with traditional and experimental forms of visual representation, I maintain a keen interest in science in my work, with a focus on issues related to sustainability in agriculture practices. I see biological progress and change as a metaphor for human relationships. The themes of interest include plant life, traditional agricultural practices, agriculture induced environmental issues, genetic diversity and food security.
