Josefina Posch in conversation with Yao Yan of ddm warehouse about her piece "Iceberg, right ahead!" part of the 52nd Venice Biennale 2007 Migration Addicts. Josefina Posch is born in Gothenburg Sweden where she is also based. She has been working with a plentitude of media from interactive new media installations, social events such as her collaboration with Michelangelo Pistolettos Love difference gelato or the Gibao Shadow puppet troupe in Shanghai to encompass video, sound, smell ,etchings and sculpture. Always present is her fascination for the paradox between the private and the public, the intellect and primal instincts and has described herself as a shy exhibitonist. During tha last few years she has shifted her focus from post colonial issues to investigating the body and figure in contemporary sculpture.
Josefina Posch exhibitions include: Migration Addicts interventions Venice Biennale 2007, Intrude- Art & Life, Zendai MoMA Shanghai 2008, Art Multiple Ke Center for Contemporary Art, Shanghai 08, Read Me, Rda Sten, Gteborg 08, Artist-in-residency Sculpturespace, NY spring 08 and a 4-month residency at Michelangelo Pistlettos Cittadellarte Unidee in Italy July-October 08. Josefina Posch is a boardmember in Galleri Box where this August she co-curated Kat A4 with Par Darell. The exhibition concluded with a project in the Swedish art magazine Paletten. Her most recent solos exhibition in February 2012 was at Gallery 54 in Gothenburg with live streams to Art + Gallery in Shanghai. This fall she will be holding workshops and exhibiting video at Furtherfield Gallery in London.
