Anastasia Potelova

Hi, my name is Anastasiia Potelova and I am a travel artist. I come from a small town in the northwest of Russia - Vologda. Now I live and work with my husband and little daughter in Portugal, Porto.

My creative path, long and winding, is not limited to just drawing. I really love doing something with my hands - sculpting, sewing, tinkering.

I draw my inspiration from the world around me. These can be the simplest things. Sometimes, in order to ignite a spark of inspiration, it is enough to see just a flower in a vacant lot or beautifully folded boxes in a trash heap. And, of course, nature in all its manifestations really charges me, that's why I love to travel so much and change my place of residence with pleasure.

My love of travel is reflected in my art. I prefer materials that are convenient to take with me on the road: watercolors, oil pastels, pencils, charcoal. My technique is lively and fast, etude, without a lot of details.

I graduated from the Yaroslavl Art School, where I received an academic education. To this day, I adhere to a realistic style in my works. But at the same time, I do not create in one direction. I really like landscapes, and sketches of people, and still lifes, etc.
