My family and I moved a lot when I was young: houses, states, towns. We picked up, left, and started over. It was hard to pick up where I thought I left off. New schools, new people, new judgements. Growing up in many environments and moving around a lot as a kid made me very aware of the poetry of life. The beauties, the sorrows, the turmoils and the celebrations.

I would write as a desire to express what I saw and how it made me feel, and always yearned to derive meaning from it all. When we moved from Oregon to California I discovered iPhone photography. Being able to capture what I felt through what I saw was very empowering. Shortly after, I discovered film photography with some old cameras my parents had. I fell deeper in love with a craft I thought could only be a hobby, and before I knew it, the provocative power of imagery had changed my life forever.

I have delved deeper into photography since, capturing deeper emotions. Photographing solely my girlfriend, Ashley, and our relationship. It is one of truth, of trust, and of the deepest love I have and will ever experience. To be so fortunate as to capture my love, freeze time, freeze our emotions, and our experiences, is for me, the greatest joy.
