In my mind there is a lovely woman who lives in the forest. She loves nature and protects the small animals that live in and amongst the trees. She actually has tree branches growing out of her head in order to camouflage herself from any danger that could come her way. Her name is Agatha. Being a multidisciplinary, collage is the perfect way for art making.

January Garabedian lives and works in Santa Monica. A resident since the age of 13, she attended Santa Monica schools through Santa Monica College. Her father introduced her to art at a very young age. They would often be found in a corner of the house, painting a still life set up by her dad. During the 1980's she worked with a residential architect designing, building and installing stained glass windows, broken tile and ceramic counter tops, and other residential decorative appointments. Before settling into her current mixed media pieces, January explored a number of media including; serigraphs, color pencils, oil and acrylic, stained/leaded glass, and broken tile ceramics. The many influences of these processes can be seen in her latest work.
