NINA MAY Nina May has been designing professionally for 32 years. Her design career started on a whim. After completing study at prestigious Woodbury University for Graphic Arts and Otis School of Art and Design for Textile Design in Los Angeles. After receiving numerous compliments on her hand-painted attire, her associates begged to buy her unique apparel and voila! - 8TEEZ was born - Nina's first clothing design business. From 8TEEZ, Nina sold her one of a kind fashion to many boutiques and department stores in the greater Los Angeles area. She's designed and sold her hand-painted clothing at fashionable boutiques and Major Department stores like: Fred Segal, Sak's Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's, Lord & Taylor. Her unique textile designs and graphics appear on Barbie at Mattel Toys, Hippie Ink Apparel, Spin Master Ltd. LIV Dolls and La Dee Da Dolls. She also introduced and designed a whimsical line of handmade greeting cards. Nina is currently, a consulting graphic textile designer for many apparel and toy manufacturers in Los Angeles. She has also served as an Art Consultant at Overland Avenue School for Advanced Studies and Craft Workshop Instructor with the Craft and Folk Art Museum as well as Art Instructor at PAINT:LAB in Santa Monica, California and guest lecturer at Otis School of Art and Design. After many years working in retail sales, management, display and international mass apparel production, Nina has a wealth of knowledge and experience to bring to any project. Nina is intimately familiar with the design process from first spark of inspiration to the finished product in the hands of a happy child or fashion conscious customer. She knows that heads-up sales and marketing are the keys to moving great products. Design integrity, quality and attention to detail are Nina's topmost priories. She takes prides in perceiving the client's needs first, then focusing her keen sense of style and trend awareness to satisfy that need. Her innate sense of market trend in color, print and theme uniquely qualifies Nina May as prime asset to any design project.
