About The Artwork

April flowers bring May flowers ... "Bloom" represents opening oneself to joy after long days in COVID 19 confinement. It is playful, fun, light in spirit. In a mixture of impasto and collage, I bring into the painting the concept of natural flowers made out of fragrant spices, preserved perennial rose leaves, embroidery, and natural wood elements. This artwork is on an 8mm thick plywood support. Let´s look at life again with excitement and expectation.

Born in Ecuador, Ana is a designer/painter creating art solutions for home and office living. As a painter, before opting for studio work, Ana specialized in colour and fantasy finishes for interiors. She creates spaces designed to bring a touch of reverie into the everyday. The drive behind her work is: "to bring back to people the ability to dream". In a world rapidly changing and with the desire to impact current lifestyles, Ana is making her interior work more accessible by painting in panels. Individual pieces combined into sequential series become screens, wall panels or partitions. Her work is mostly in mixed medium. Ana blends colour touches of light and ancient restorations techniques. She uses humble materials, often pieces found in nature or findings and transforms them into luxurious productions. Her palette is at times monochromatic or at times, exuberant. Ana's painting reflects her background in fashion, interior design and her cross/cultural experience between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe. Her work is sensorial, bold, clean and contemporary.
